    • Improved the signal tray by displaying the signal filter on the left and the signal measurement on the right. Additionally, the settings can be accessed by tapping on the bottom bar.

  • Combining multiple signal maps in NEON Command will now produce multiple paths aligned by start time instead of appending signal maps together to create a single path.
  • Saving a signal map in NEON Command will now produce a .neon log that includes the building information as well as the signal data.
  • The avatar in NEON Command is now gray instead of purple.
  • The adjust tool in NEON Command is now available by right clicking on the user and selecting “Adjust Path” and has been removed from the Edit > Adjust Path menu.

  • New Feature: The Tracking Unit firmware now enables future updates to be transferred automatically in the background. When new firmware is ready to install a banner will be displayed at the top of the screen. You can click on the banner to update the firmware immediately or dismiss the banner to update the firmware the next time the Tracking Unit is power cycled to avoid interruptions while tracking.
  • New Feature: The Tracking Unit firmware now enables future updates to be transferred using a USB connection.
  • Note: The Android app now requires Android API 21 (5.0) in order to be installed.
  • Note: NEON Command now requires .NET 4.7.2. If .NET 4.7.2 is not installed the installer will download and install .NET 4.7.2.

  • New Feature: Added the ability to correct the location of colored dots on NEON Command. This allows you to create a more accurate signal map report. You can access the tool when a signal map is open by selecting Tools > Adjust Path.
  • New Feature: Added a prompt to select a Tracking Unit if you start the app without one selected.
  • New Feature: Added a common root folder to keep all NEON logs (.nav, .maps, .sigmap, etc.). All files are now stored at the root of the SD card in the “NEON” folder. You will be prompted to move your current files upon starting the app.
  • New Feature: Added multi-select in NEON cloud file selector.
  • Note: When using the offline buildings feature, building files will be stored in NEON/Maps on Android.

  • Updated Tracking Unit selection menu. It’s now easier to see which device is currently active.
  • New Feature: Added the ability to compress uploaded pictures taken while signal mapping. In the settings menu, you can choose low, medium, or high quality.
  • New Feature: Added the ability to plot multiple measurements in the Signal Mapper sidebar in NEON Command.
  • New Feature: Added measurement type to the Signal Mapper sidebar in NEON Command and in the Signal Mapper app. For example, the measurement type for a BLE signal can be either TRX, iBeacon, or Eddystone.

  • New Feature: Added a beacon update tool in the settings menu. This tool can be used to update multiple Beacons and/or Tracking Units at once.
  • Note: Floor plans are now grayscale by default. In the settings menu there is an option to disable grayscale mode.

  • New Feature: When setting a new password, users will no longer be able to use passwords that have been involved in known data breaches.
  • New Feature: Added ability to change your password on the user profile page of the NEON website.

  • Note: The firmware update for this release is mandatory due to ranging updates. Please update all Tracking Units and Beacons.

  • Note: The first time you start NEON after this update, you will be prompted to accept several runtime permissions (storage, location, etc.). The permissions themselves have not changed - the only change is how they are presented to you.


  • New Feature: Outdoor signal sources are now localized and added to the Image Report. You can show them by selecting the Signal Sources option from the layers menu.
  • Advanced Feature: Long touch on the check-in icon to select either a standard or terrain check-in. Terrain check-ins force the constraint to occur on the ground instead of in a building. This is useful when tracking above underground buildings.

  • New Feature: Added support for outdoor heat maps. Paths that have outdoor segments will now automatically generate a heat map outside.


  • Improved TRX beacon firmware upgrade process. If a beacon is plugged into USB it will now automatically power on the beacon when the upgrade is complete.

  • New Feature: Added the ability to track on sky bridges. Sky bridges can be added in NEON Command in the building editor.

  • New Feature: Added new heat map aggregation methods (min, max, or average) in NEON Command. This can be set in Preferences > Signal Mapper > Heatmap Options.
