  • New Feature: The Tracking Unit firmware now enables future updates to be transferred automatically in the background. When new firmware is ready to install a banner will be displayed at the top of the screen. You can click on the banner to update the firmware immediately or dismiss the banner to update the firmware the next time the Tracking Unit is power cycled to avoid interruptions while tracking.
  • New Feature: The Tracking Unit firmware now enables future updates to be transferred using a USB connection.
  • Note: The Android app now requires Android API 21 (5.0) in order to be installed.

  • New Feature: Added support for mapping generic NFC tags. In Mapper mode, users can scan and place NFC tags by aligning the Android’s NFC reader with the tag. Generic NFC tags cannot be placed in NEON Command, but they can be moved or deleted once placed in Mapper mode.
  • Note: The first time you start NEON after this update, you will be prompted to accept several runtime permissions (storage, location, etc.). The permissions themselves have not changed - the only change is how they are presented to you.

  • The Personnel Tracker and Mapper apps have been combined into one “Personnel Tracker” app. You can switch between Tracker and Mapper mode using the drop-down menu.
  • Subscription administrators can now define who has “Mapper” permissions. Only users with the “Mapper” permission will be able to switch to mapper mode. By default, all existing users have the “Mapper” permission.
  • Improved Tracking Unit selection when using a USB OTG cable. When the Tracking Unit is connected to the Android device it is now automatically selected.
  • Advanced Feature: Long touch on the check-in icon to select either a standard or terrain check-in. Terrain check-ins force the constraint to occur on the ground instead of in a building. This is useful when tracking above underground buildings.
