Android Apps

How do I report a bug?

With the NEON app open and logged in, quickly shake your phone a few times (about 3) and the dialog box will appear. Be sure to select an appropriate category and include a comment about the issue you are experiencing. Press the “Send” button in the top right to submit your bug.

This bug report dialog can also be opened from the bottom of the main menu.

What Android version can I use with NEON apps?

All NEON Android apps require Android version 5.0 (API Level 21) or higher.

NOTE: Android 9 throttles Wi-Fi scanning which can reduce location accuracy. Android 10 allows users to disable the Wi-Fi scan throttling from the developer options.

The app is not installing on my device. What should I do?

First, check to make sure you are using a support Android version (Android 5.0 or higher). If your Android version is supported, try another browser. Some browsers do not support installing applications from the NEON website. You can also sideload the application by downloading it on your PC and transferring it to your Android device with a USB. If none of these methods work, please contact support@trxsystems.com.

How do I manually send .nav logs?

When working with technical support at TRX Systems, you may be asked to send your .nav log for review. Just follow the steps below to get this file:

  1. Connect your phone to your PC with a USB.
  2. Set your phone to transfer files over USB, if it is not already.
  3. In Windows Explorer, navigate to Computer\phone name\Internal shared storage\NEON\NavLogs
  4. Find the log(s) that you want to send and copy them to your computer. Logs are named with a date and time stamp.

When sending .nav logs, please include any comments about your path. This will help technical support identify any errors.

Personnel Tracker

How much data is sent between the Android and the NEON Cloud Service during normal Personnel Tracker operation?

With live tracking, you should expect to see around 750 bytes/sec amortized over an 8-hour shift. Assuming 8 hour a day usage Monday through Friday, this is less than one gigabyte per month on each device.

Signal Mapper Integrations

Can I use a USB type C Android device with the Anritsu Signal Mapper?

Yes, but this requires a male to male USB-C to Mini-B USB cable. We suggest this cable, which we use on a regular basis.

NOTE: A USB Type C adapter will not work on the provided Micro USB cable. This connection requires OTG, which adapters typically do not support.
